Marbella Club

Marbella Club Hotel garden terrace on the Golden Mile

The Marbella Club opened in 1954 as a private retreat for Prince Alfonso of Hohenlohe and his circle — a collection of bungalows arranged around a garden on the beachfront of what would become the Golden Mile. Seven decades later, the spirit of that original vision remains intact: a place where elegance is worn lightly, where discretion is understood as a service, and where the rhythm of the Mediterranean day governs everything.

The property now encompasses 115 rooms and suites and 16 villas, each expressing the resort's characteristic blend of Andalusian craft and contemporary comfort. Hand-painted Moorish tiles, organic linens, rattan furniture, and mature garden settings give every accommodation a sense of accumulated character — the antithesis of the newbuilt luxury resort. The original bungalows remain among the most requested rooms in the portfolio.

Six restaurants and bars serve the full arc of a Marbella day — from morning coffee beneath orange trees to late dinners by candlelight with sea views. The culinary programme is anchored in Mediterranean tradition, with Spanish and international influences that reflect the resort's decades-long role as a gathering place for European and international guests.

The Marbella Club Golf Resort, five minutes from the hotel, offers an 18-hole course designed by Dave Thomas across a valley setting with mountain views. The spa, built around thalassotherapy, operates on a rigorous wellness philosophy. A private beach club, two pools, and direct access to Puerto Banús complete the picture.
